You can update your Garmin GPS from the Garmin support website by installing the Garmin Express software on your computer. To begin to Update Garmin GPS, you will have to navigate to the Garmin support website from your web browser. Now login to your Garmin Express account using your registered email ID and password. Now connect your current GPS to your computer via USB cable and make sure the internet is stable and high-speed. It will be difficult for you to install the latest Garmin updates if the internet you have connected to is slow or intermittent. Additionally, if you also want to update the maps then that wouldn’t be a bad idea. You can simply buy the maps updates if you haven’t subscribed to the lifetime maps.
