This month’s giveaway celebrates Inspector Kate Martinelli and her city! One of my favorite San Francisco guidebooks isn’t exactly a traditional guidebook. But what else do you expect for The City? (Which is how native NorCal-ians think of it.) This is one of the Wildsam company’s amusing and informative Field Guides, which aim to guide both visitors and residents beyond a surface look at the place, into an understanding of its nature. Hence, calling it a “field” guide. You’ll learn about French bread and bicycles, Harvey Milk and Jack London, Joan Didion and why the Golden Gate Bridge isn’t golden.
